W2: SIXTH IN THIRD DIVISION
Day 1 (Tuesday): Bumped Sidney Sussex II
Report by Will Turner:After an extended marshalling session due to the re-row of the M4 division,
Downing W2 were ready to race in the W3 division. We rowed down without a
practice start, and so were dropped in straight at the deep end when the
cannon went. The girls got off to a flying start, and after just 5 strokes
we were already a length up on Sidney Sussex W2. It wasn't long before,
after a late concession from the Sidney cox, we bumped before reaching
first station. Tomorrow we'll be chasing Queens' II, and we're excited and
ready to race again, after an incredible day which was, for the majority of
the crew, our first ever day of bumps. Bring on the rest of the week!
